Graduating from the Los Angeles Film School with a major in Production Design, Film Production at New York Film Academy, and Art Direction at FDI Pinewood Studios. Marla’s directorial debut “The White Picket Fence Project” was awarded the 2012 FLICKERS: The Rhode Island International Film Festival, International Ambassadors Award and the 2012 CALIFORNIA FILM AWARDS, Diamond Award Winner for Documentary Film Competition. The documentary was inspired by the resilience and will to succeed from the young people she came across during her work for The One To One Children’s Fund. Marla developed, directed (with directing partner Tamarin Kaplan), produced (with Lynette Howell of “Blue Valentine” & “Half Nelson”) the feature length film.
Marla continues to produce and direct through her company Cantine, overseeing strategic creative production and amplification of content for brands like: Nike, NHS, BBC, Disney and multiple #1 global music artist campaigns for Sony Music Entertainment and Universal Music Group.
